Cabling Route Strategy

Given the fan-shaped architecture of Building M, all horizontal cabling will run through ceiling conduit following the curved corridors to the central IT room. The building's curved ceiling space allows concealed conduit routing without major civil work. Vertical drops use surface-mounted trunking at room entry points.

Installation Standards

TIA-568-C.2 Compliant
All terminations to T568B standard. Cable tested with Fluke DSX-600 after installation.
Conduit Sizing
20mm for 1–2 cables, 25mm for 3–4, 32mm for 5+. Max 40% fill ratio.
Cable Labeling
Every cable labeled at both ends: [Zone]-[Room]-[Port]. E.g. M-CR1-D01.
Separation from Power
Minimum 200mm separation from 230V power cables. Cross at 90° only where crossing is unavoidable.
Patch Panel
All runs terminate at 24-port Cat6A shielded patch panels in IT room. 4 panels total.
Grounding & Bonding
Rack earth bonding per IEC 60364. Shielded patch panels bonded to rack earth bar.

Budget Notes
• All prices are estimates based on current Saudi market rates (Apr 2026). Actual quotes from 3 suppliers recommended before final approval.
• Computers budget can be reduced ~30% by re-using existing FIP stock (67 laptops in Snipe-IT register).
• AV budget is the largest single variable — Samsung Flip Pro alone is ~18K SAR. Consider ViewSonic alternatives at 30% less.
• Installation labor estimate assumes local contractor. In-house IT team involvement can reduce by 40%.
